1. In a most regressive piece of legislation, the Karnataka Government amends to bring ”Digital Offenders” under the purview of Goonda Act. This could lead to drastic abuse of freedom of speech and expression as an offender could be taken into ”preventive custody” before committing the offence. Read more.
2. TDS is applicable on sale of immoveable property (other than agricultural land) wherein the sale consideration of the property exceeds or is equal to Rs 50,00,000 (Rupees Fifty Lakhs). TDS must be paid before registration of a property.
